Sociology for Care


This module introduces you to the contribution which sociology makes to an understanding of society and socialisation. This will involve developing an understanding of how common sense explanations relating to social issues differ from sociological explanations. You will study agents and influences of socialisation and key sociological concepts. You will investigate prejudice and stereotyping and the negative impact of discrimination on individuals in need of care. Finally, you will describe how equality can be promoted.
