Each PDA is a separate qualification

PDA Health and Social Care Supervision: G9AM 47

This award is a new qualification at SCQF level 7 which has been designed to meet the requirements of social services workers who are registered, registerable or prospectively registerable with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) in a supervisory role. 

The PDA in Health and Social Care Supervision at SCQF level 7 is also designed to provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for employees who are in a first line management role and provide supervision, support and guidance to other staff. 

PDA Mental Health Peer Support (G9WA 47)

Peer support worker is a retatively new role within Scottish mental health services. Peer support workers are people who have actually experienced mental health problems themselves. They are trained and then employed within existing mental health services to complement and enhance these services. They offer a high degree of empathy and mutuality, and work in a way that is strongly oriented around the recovery experience. Hope and self-direction are central components of this approach.

PDA Promoting Excellence in Dementia Skilled Practice (GE4V47)

The Professional Development Award (PDA) in Promoting Excellence in Dementia Skilled practice at SCQF level 7 is an SQA qualification for people working with those who have dementia, their families and carers. The qualification is designed to improve professional practice, contribute to meeting the registration requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), and provide continuous professional development for employees.
